However, the two most notable antics had to go out to Kanye West and Lil' Mama. For those who missed it, don't have twitter or have absolutely no friends that are into pop culture, Kanye West burst on the stage after Taylor Swift was awarded Best Female Video. Stinkin of Hennessy, Yeezy grabbed the mic from T-Swift and declared that Beyonce should have won best video. Lifted Research Group (LRG) has collaborated with Oakley to release 2 limited edition versions of the popular A Frame goggles. The first colorway (pictured above) comes in a mirror black frame and is paired with special Gold Iridium lenses. What's dope is that the LRG landscape is etched into the bottom half of the lens! The second colorway comes in purple and has the LRG trees across the whole frame. Paired with Black Iridium lenses, these goggles use the special etching technique as well, showing off the LRG logo on the bottom. With the amazing success of the first Aoki x Supra collaboration (pictured below in white and black colorways), the two street icons have come together again. Supra and Los Angeles resident DJ, Steve Aoki, present the Wildlife Strapped. A very unique sneaker that feature a monochromatic animal print. To me, the print looks like what would happen if you wore a black suede jacket in the rain [lol]. However, upclose the print is pretty dope - like a mix of elephant, zebra, cheetah and alligator.. It was only a matter of time before Nike started working their design magic on snowboard boots. With only 3 designs released for their 2009 snowboard debut, Nike has taken it up a notch with this season's offerings. The designs look dope, but I'm not entirely sold on the technology. They still use an outdated lacing system and other than the air soles, the boots are pretty average. However, I still might cop a pair just because they look too sick!

I posted a crystal skull ring made by the high-end Japanese fashion brand, Random, that I excitedly splurged on (pictured below). It was made from silver and was encrusted with Swarovski crystals. However, if you're looking for something a little less aggressive, Takashi Murakami has expanded his influence in jewelry design. Murakami, whose collaborations with Louis Vuitton (monogramouflauge print) and Kanye West (artwork on Graduation album), has made quite a name for himself. The collaboration with Kaikai Kiki on this Dokuro Ring puts a humorous twist on the skull by incorporating his signature smiley face flowers. To give you an idea on the price, the sterling silver version is set at 68,250 yen ($730 USD) while the white gold and diamond version is 3,675,000 yen ($39,000 USD).

Torontonians rejoice, your boy Drizzy hits the cover of Fader Magazine! Drake has been blowing up the airwaves with a fury and it's only deserving that he start putting his mark on print. Scheduled to be released on August 18th, however rumor has it that Toronto will get it a week early. If you don't have the coin to cop this mag, check the Fader website in about 2 weeks and they promised to have a pdf download and audio clips from the interview. Now I know 'Tuesday's Tune' has passed, but it's only fitting that I post Drake's latest single, 'The Winner', to commemorate his magazine debut.

(Kahn Design) In other words, cars built for the incredibly wealthy :) Now, you all know I have an affinity for black cars so it comes as no surprise that I'd blog about Kahn Design's newest project: the McLaren SLR Carbon. You can't really go wrong in redesigning an already impressive vehicle, but with carbon fiber accents, custom black paint and glossy tinted windows, this SLR is made for your town's Bruce Wayne. One of the many impressive additions are the Kahn F1-X wheels; made from carbon fiber and magnesium making them ultra light and reducing the overall weight of the vehicle. Leave it to Kahn Design to make an expensive super car even more expensive and even more super!

BMW has given new meaning to the term 'crotch rocket' with their Duo-Wheel Transport prototype. Designed by Pierre Yohanes Lubis, the Halb Organismus (or 'Halbo') looks like something straight out of Minority Report. This futuristic vehicle is half the size of a regular motorcycle but with full size speed. Acceleration is produced with the stationary front wheel, while the rear tail houses a sphere (not a wheel) which allows it to go left and right (just like a boat). What's even better? It's electric! With gas prices still soaring and everybody so concerned with 'going green', this tiny little monster is generating a lot of attention...

So what's lighter than vapor? The Method according to the snow scientists at Burton! Back in 2006, Burton released a much anticipated Vapor snowboard - the 'lightest snowboard ever made'. This board was the pinnacle of snowboard ingenuity: extremely lightweight (1 full pound lighter than any other board in their line), insanely strong and goggle rippin' fast! Now, it seems that the wizkids from Burton have pushed the envelope even further with The Method. If you are a tech freak like me and love testing out new innovations in snowboard construction, then you better get a tissue because this board makes all others look like caveman planks.

Using titanium alloy edges, Alumasuperfly Core, new S2 Carbon Vaporskin Lite, and weaved striated carbon fiber are just the tip of the iceberg. If you got it, flaunt it right? Burton has opted to not put a graphic topsheet but instead, use a thin clearcoat to show off its impressive guts. The Method, like Bigfoot, has been spotted at some Burton Demo Centers for some lucky shredders to try out. Number one complaint: "it is too light and fast that I fly too high off kickers". That's like crying to Ferrari and saying, "My Enzo is too fast that it makes other cars look small in my rearview".

Sadly, this board is not wallet-friendly. Rumor has it that since this board surpasses the already price heavy Vapor ($1499 CAD), owning this joyride will run you $1600+ easy! Not what you call recession-friendly, but I'm a sucker for new toys so I guess I'll try to pawn off another liver!

I've always loved the song 'Houstatlantavegas' by Drake, but not until recently did I realize how DEEP the song actually is. Coming from a guy who did his 4th year thesis on Female Sex Trafficking, to hear a song about the exploitation of women is a fresh change from all the 'Turn My Swag On', 'Booty Dew' and 'Hotel Room' garbage on the radio now. Drizzy just rips the song by lyrically painting you the unfortunate picture of the stripper profession. My favorite line has to be "throw your ones up in the air for her... cause the ones you throw might get her out of -- houstatlantavegas" Ironic huh? For those that haven't heard it, peep the link above. I also found a remix by JoJo which is pretty dope and expands the theme even further. Enjoy!

After watching Entourage and drooling over E's Aston I stumbled upon this beauty: the Aston Martin One-77. Every time Bathing Ape opens a new store I'm always excited to see the crazy interior. Again,Bape has commissioned Japanese design genius Masamichi Katayama from Wonderwall to oversee this London project. And yet again, he has failed to disappoint. Staying true to past designs, this Bathing Ape store looks something out of iRobot. The most eye-catching detail has to be the ceiling. The use of hidden indirect lighting creates an amazing 'glowing' illusion.

Yesterday, Jay-Z released his first official single (DOA was his street single) off the highly anticipated album, The Blueprint 3 (scheduled to drop Sept. 11) called 'Run This Town' featuring Rihanna and Kanye West. Now, I'm not hatin', but it was okay - average actually. With all the hype around it, I thought we were going to get another 'Swagger Like Us' joint. Don't get me wrong, the beat is sick but Jay-Z isn't as lyrically strong on this one, which gave Yeezy a chance to steal it with the final verse. Pump the speakers and listen for yourself...

Fashion Fridays: Adidas SLVR

Adidas recently released their lookbook for their upcoming SLVR line for Fall/Winter 2009. What's SLVR? Think of it as a bridge between their Originals line and their high-end Japanese collaborated Y-3 line. SLVR line is a mix of fashion and function. Using innovative construction methods like the 'One Piece Tree' which involves using one piece of fabric shaped by two seams in order to reduce waste. My first impression of this line is it is very sleek with a minimalist flare - few colors with clean shapes and fluid lines. The subtle placement of the iconic 3 stripes helps differentiate it from the sportier Adidas we all have come to know. Lastly, shoe design has always been rather 'ify' with Adidas - thank god they got it right with this line. The shoes are dope and very fashionable. Cha cha check it out...

Matte black paint jobs are straight gangster! Matte options have always been available, but few have had the balls to pull it off. One of the most recognizable cars to sport the matte is Rob Dyrdek's Denali. That truck just looked mean pushin' through the streets! Recently, high end bad boys like Lamborghini, Maserati , Mercedes & Porsche are dawning the stealth black look on special edition models of their flagship cars. The Sartorialist Book

I can't think of anyone more influential than Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) when it comes to fusing fashion and photography. It isn't surprising that a book based on Schuman's work is in the works; his photos speak for themselves in the eyes of the fashion elite. What's more surprising is that it has taken this long for one to be released. Schuman comments on the delay:

"I have received many offers in the past about doing a book, but I held back until I felt the right offer was at hand. This was the right offer.

The main reason I feel so excited about this project is that Penguin will publish the book in paperback, and a special limited-edition "bespoke" version simultaneously. This was very important to me because as a photographer I wanted a beautiful book to showcase my images - but I didn't want to do just another expensive coffee table book that would be too expensive for many of my readers. I think this creative method will be the best of both worlds."

The thing about first impressions is that you only get ONE! So why not stand out from all the jobbers in this world with this cool business card trick (*hint* also a great way to impress the ladies).

The key to this trick is CHARM! Open it up with something clever like, "I'm very cost efficient. I save thousands by printing my own business cards" (insert trick here). If you do it right, the recipient of your business card will be talking about you at the office (or with her girlfriends!). Do it wrong; well then I wouldn't hold my breath for a call back because now you're just an idiot in an awkward situation *shakes head*

Don't you hate it when you're with someone and all you can see is the top of their head because their noses are buried in their Crackberry! Well too EFFIN' bad! I love the Crack and some generous hackers were kind enough to share the new BBM 5.0 (BBM stands for 'Blackberry Messenger' for all the non-addicts out there) with the public and spoil RIM's big release.
